In 2011, I traveled across the United States in a two-car caravan, with the intention to make a documentary film about homelessness. We traveled around befriending and speaking with people from all walks of life in an attempt to inform ourselves and dispel any misconceptions we might've had.

Visually, we were interested in a naturalistic palette, as it suited the sensitive, human subjects. The majority of the film is shot handheld, because we needed to adapt quickly to situations and capture moments as they happened.
